- Why Bulletproof Zone?
The Rothco Hard Knuckle Cut and Fire-Resistant Tactical Gloves are heavy-duty protective gloves built for tactical operators, security professionals, and military personnel who need hand protection against cuts, flame exposure, and impact. Constructed from water-repellent goatskin leather with molded knuckles and cut- and fire-resistant material on the back of the hand and fingers, these gloves are available in Black in sizes Small through 2XL.
Molded Knuckle Protection Where It Counts
The Rothco Hard Knuckle Tactical Gloves feature water-repellent goatskin leather with molded knuckles designed to absorb and deflect impact to the back of the hand. Goatskin leather is a durable, close-fitting material that conforms to the hand over time, providing a secure grip surface across the palm, fingers, and thumb. The water-repellent finish helps the leather maintain its integrity in wet field conditions.
Cut and Fire Resistance for Hazardous Environments
The back of the hand and fingers are constructed from cut- and fire-resistant material, adding a layer of protection in environments where sharp edges or brief flame exposure are realistic hazards. This makes the gloves suitable for tasks where standard leather alone would not provide adequate coverage against those specific threats. The Black variant is listed as fire resistant; a separately listed MultiCam variant is described as fire retardant rather than fire resistant.
Comfort During Extended Wear
Open-cell foam padding on the fingers and palm reduces fatigue and pressure during prolonged use. A hook-and-loop wrist closure allows the wearer to dial in fit quickly and securely, keeping the glove stable during active tasks without requiring tools or complex adjustment.

Who This Is For and Isn't
These gloves suit tactical operators, security personnel, law enforcement, and military users who need combined impact, cut, and fire-resistant hand protection during active field work, vehicle operations, or training exercises. The range of sizes from Small to 2XL accommodates a wide variety of hand sizes.
No specific cut-resistance or flame-resistance standard or rating level is cited for these gloves, so they are not a confirmed substitute for gloves required to meet specific occupational safety certifications. These gloves are not described as waterproof or insulated for cold-weather use.
Common Questions
What materials are used in the Rothco Hard Knuckle Tactical Gloves?
The Rothco Hard Knuckle Tactical Gloves are constructed from water-repellent goatskin leather on the palm, fingers, and thumb, with molded leather knuckles on the back of the hand. The back of the hand and fingers also incorporate cut- and fire-resistant material. Open-cell foam padding is used on the fingers and palm for comfort.
Are these gloves cut resistant and fire resistant?
Yes. The Rothco Hard Knuckle Tactical Gloves are listed as both cut resistant and fire resistant. The cut- and fire-resistant material is located on the back of the hand and fingers. No specific cut-resistance or flame-resistance standard or rating level is cited for the Black variant.
What sizes are available, and how should I choose?
The Rothco Hard Knuckle Tactical Gloves are available in Small, Medium, Large, XL, and 2XL in Black. The hook-and-loop wrist closure provides some adjustability within a size. If you are between sizes, sizing up is generally recommended for gloves with structured knuckle protection to avoid restricting movement.
Does the wrist closure keep the gloves secure during active use?
The Rothco Hard Knuckle Tactical Gloves use a hook-and-loop closure at the wrist, which allows the wearer to adjust fit quickly and maintain a snug hold during active tasks. Hook-and-loop closures can be refastened on the fly without removing the glove, which is practical in field conditions.
Is there a California Proposition 65 warning for these gloves?
Yes. The Rothco Hard Knuckle Tactical Gloves carry a California Proposition 65 warning for Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP), a chemical known to the State of California to cause harm. This warning is required for products sold into California containing this chemical above threshold levels.

The Bulletproof Zone Promise
When you buy body armor, you're buying your safety. We don't take that lightly. Here's what every order from Bulletproof Zone includes.
1. Authorized dealer of every brand we carry
Every plate, vest, and carrier we ship comes from the manufacturer directly to our warehouse. We don't sell gray-market product, surplus, or returns. That means factory-fresh stock, the full manufacturer warranty, and real after-sale support — the kind only an authorized dealer can offer.
We maintain authorized-dealer relationships with America's leading body armor brands, including Spartan Armor Systems, AR500 Armor, RMA Defense, Shellback Tactical, Caliber Armor, DFNDR Armor, Protection Group Denmark, BulletSafe, BulletBlocker, and over 40 more.
2. Best price, guaranteed
If you find a lower price at another authorized dealer of the same product within six months of your purchase, we'll refund the difference.
Why the "authorized dealer" requirement? Because gray-market and surplus armor may not be genuine, may have a compromised supply chain, and almost never comes with a manufacturer warranty. We won't price-match against products that may not actually protect you.
3. Free fitment consultation
Body armor only protects you if it fits. Email us a photo and your measurements before you order, and one of our specialists will help you size your carrier and plates correctly — at no charge, no obligation.
4. Trusted by thousands of customers
Bulletproof Zone has been a trusted authorized dealer of America's leading body armor manufacturers for over five years. We have over 4,000 verified Trustpilot reviews from real customers across all 50 states.
