CBRN protection and chemical performance
The HAZ-SUIT's multi-layer barrier laminate forms a unified barrier against chemical splashes, particulates, and vapor exposure. The suit has been tested against chemical warfare agents at the following breakthrough thresholds:

The suit is also tested against the ASTM F1001 standard chemical battery of 21 substances. Select results: acetone (>480 min), carbon disulfide (>480 min), nitrobenzene (>480 min), sulfuric acid (>480 min), chlorine gas (>480 min), and hydrogen chloride gas (>480 min). Dichloromethane achieved 70 minutes of resistance; methyl alcohol reached 55 minutes. The suit is engineered for up to eight hours of direct exposure to numerous chemical agents and radioactive particulates listed in standardized tests.
Radiological protection: the HAZ-SUIT helps prevent alpha-emitting dust and many beta contaminants from contacting skin or clothing. It does not shield against penetrating gamma or neutron radiation — gamma exposure is managed through time, distance, and shielding, and proper respiratory protection is essential to prevent inhalation of radioactive particulates.
An important note on gases and vapors: some gases and vapors can be absorbed through the skin. The HAZ-SUIT has been tested and proven to block these contaminants in liquid form, but no non-encapsulated suit can guarantee complete protection from all gases and vapors. The elastic hood, wrists, and ankles, when paired with appropriate hazmat gloves, a properly fitted gas mask, and chemical-resistant boots, significantly limit — but do not entirely eliminate — vapor and gas entry. For maximum vapor and gas protection, a fully encapsulated Level A suit with an SCBA system is required.
Hazmat protection level and ensemble compatibility
When worn with a powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) or air-purifying respirator, the HAZ-SUIT functions as a Level C hazmat suit. When paired with a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), it can serve as part of a Level B ensemble. For reference, the four standard hazmat protection levels are:
- Level A: fully encapsulating suit with SCBA — maximum skin and respiratory protection.
- Level B: high respiratory protection with a non-encapsulating suit and SCBA.
- Level C: air-purifying respirator or PAPR with chemical protective clothing.
- Level D: basic protective clothing with minimal hazard protection.
The HAZ-SUIT integrates with MIRA Safety gas masks, full-face respirators, gloves, boots, and ChemTape for a complete protective ensemble. ChemTape is recommended at the wrists, ankles, and face interface to create the tightest possible seal.

Shelf life and storage
Long-term aging tests show the HAZ-SUIT's barrier fabric retains full performance for decades when stored correctly. A coverall using twenty-year-old HAZ-SUIT fabric was tested against the complete ASTM F1001 list of 21 chemicals with no breakthrough in more than 480 minutes, and the aged fabric still met manufacturing specifications for physical properties. MIRA Safety considers the shelf life of the HAZ-SUIT to be undetermined — it can be used as long as it passes visual inspection and, for vapor-protective configurations, the ASTM F1052 pressure test.
Suits should be downgraded to training use only when they no longer pass visual inspection or pressure testing. It is the wearer's responsibility to ensure all components — fabric, valves, zippers, seams, and suit-to-component interfaces — are in good working condition before each use.

Is the HAZ-SUIT reusable?
It can be decontaminated and reused when contamination is light and proper decontamination procedures are followed. For non-expert users, single-use is the safer practice — improper doffing can transfer contaminants. The suit cannot be laundered like ordinary clothing. Proper donning and doffing both require training.
Does the suit come with a gas mask, gloves, or boots?
No. This listing is for the HAZ-SUIT only. A gas mask, filter, CBRN gloves, CBRN boots, and ChemTape are each sold separately and are required to complete a functional CBRN protective ensemble.
Is the HAZ-SUIT safe for children?
Youth sizes (YS and YL) fit children from approximately 3'3" to 5'0". Because the suit is non-breathable by design, it raises core body temperature. Children must be monitored continuously, kept hydrated, and removed from the suit immediately if overheating is observed. Donning and doffing require adult supervision and prior training. Guardians accept full responsibility for safe use.
Can this be shipped anywhere in the US?
Yes. The HAZ-SUIT is a chemical protective garment, not body armor, and ships free to all US addresses including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. International shipping is available to 175 countries. Export regulations may apply for international orders.
Bulletproof Zone will ship orders as soon as possible. For example, if you purchase three items, they will be shipped to you based on lead time and availability. This way you get as much of your order as soon as possible, which means that your order may come in separate packages, especially if you order products from different manufacturers.
We will bear the shipping cost for products returned because of product defect, misrepresentation, or false description. Afterward, we will initiate a full reimbursement should you decline an offer to replace the item with the same item of equal value and assured quality.

You will receive an email containing the tracking information of your order after the order has been shipped to your location. Bulletproof Zone is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. A tracking number will be provided when the package is shipped. It is the buyer’s responsibility to provide a safe place to receive mail. Once an item has been marked as delivered by the carrier, the seller is not responsible should that item go missing.
Some of our products are carried by manufacturers in various countries. Due to the nature and cost of the products that Bulletproof Zone sells, you may be charged additional import duties upon delivery. Our support team can help in investigating abnormally high import duty charges but we are unable to cover the cost of any import duties.
Damages:
We take full responsibility for any obvious damage to your product caused by wrong packaging or delivering an already defective product. Please inspect the packaging of your item(s) when they arrive, if you notice any damage, you should document it when signing for delivery. Returns and Cancellation Policy:
We back all our products with a customer satisfaction guarantee, so we created a fair return and cancellation policy.
All sales are final. No Refunds, No Cancellations. In most cases, once the order is processed, it is final and not cancellable. We may allow exceptions due to an order error or wish to return your order after delivery for any reason other than a product defect or misrepresentation. Any cancellation request is subject to an administration and cancellation fee equal to 10% of your order with a minimum of $35, whether order shipment is successful or not.
All sales are final on all closeout items and for custom manufactured bulletproof clothing once the manufacturing process has begun or not returnable unless there is a product defect or misrepresentation. Before returning any product, you MUST obtain a return authorization from our customer service representative. We can only process AUTHORIZED returns for items.

Return or exchanges request submission must be within 14 calendar days upon receipt of shipment unless noted otherwise on the product description page. Your return must be in original packaging and unused.
We encourage using USPS flat-rate shipping in returning products to receive a shipping expense refund. Buyers must ensure all returned parcels delivery receipt AND signature confirmation. We highly recommend insuring your parcel as we cannot issue a refund for an item that we do not receive back should it get lost/damaged during transit.
Refunds:
Should an item be returned because it was defective, misrepresented, not as described, etc., Bulletproof Zone will issue a full refund and will reimburse the customer for all shipping expenses associated with the return.
Please allow 5-10 business days from the time the item is received to process a refund. Refunds will only be issued to the original credit card that you use when placing your order.
