The MIRA Safety CM-7M is a CBRN-rated full-face military respirator manufactured to the same standard as the OM-90, the current-issue gas mask of the Czech Armed Forces. Built from bromobutyl rubber with silicate glass lenses and a five-point rubber-textile head harness, it weighs 500 g and carries a 20-year storage and service life from the date of production. Available in three sizes — Small, Medium, and Large — and meeting EN 136:1998 Class III and EN 148-1 standards, the CM-7M delivers all-day CBRN respiratory protection with purpose-built compatibility for rifles, optics, and night-vision devices.

Who this is for

  • Military and tactical users: purpose-designed for cheek weld with long guns and eye relief with a wide array of optics, including iron sights and night-vision devices
  • Preparedness-oriented civilians: a proven, field-tested platform with a 20-year service life and real deployment history across multiple defense and interior ministries worldwide
  • Groups and families running mixed MIRA platforms: shares valves, microphone systems, and core components with the CM-6M and CM-8M, simplifying spare-parts logistics across multiple mask types

CBRN protection and certification

The CM-7M meets EN 136:1998 Class III and EN 148-1 — the European full-face respirator standards governing CBRN performance, sealing integrity, and filter-thread compatibility. It is manufactured under the permanent supervision of a representative of the Czech Ministry of Defense and is deployed by defense and interior ministries across ten countries, including the U.S. Department of Defense and the Czech Ministry of Defense.

The bromobutyl rubber facepiece provides protection against all known chemical warfare agents along with biological, nuclear, radiological, and industrial chemical agents. Tested resistance against NBC agents — including S-Mustard Gas — exceeds 48 hours, more than 18 hours longer than the 30-hour rating of the CM-6M and CM-8M. With the correct filter installed, operating temperature range runs from -30°C to +70°C.

Rifle and optics compatibility

Most full-face respirators make long-gun use difficult. The CM-7M's dual recessed visor system provides the eye relief needed for scoped rifles and red-dot sights, and the contoured geometry above the inhalation valve allows a natural cheek weld across a wide range of rifle configurations. The filter canister mounts on either side, accommodating right- and left-handed shooters without modification.

The dual-lens configuration also delivers superior depth perception compared to a single panoramic faceplate — an advantage when using iron sights or operating in low-light conditions. Compatibility extends to night optical devices (NODs), PVS-14 monoculars, PVS-15 binoculars, and helmet-mounted NVG systems including the Team Wendy Exfil platform. The effective field of vision is 71.5%, with a binocular overlapped field of vision of 34%.

The silicate glass lenses are made to Czech special-forces specifications for optical clarity. They are impact-resistant tempered glass, not ballistic glass — the CM-7M does not provide ballistic protection.

Filter system and breathing performance

Both inhalation chambers accept standard Rd 40x1/7" NATO-thread filter canisters per EN 148-1, giving access to the widest range of 40mm NATO-compatible filters on the market. One filter port cap ships with each mask. One or two filters can be run simultaneously. Filters are sold separately.

Breathing resistance is low by design: inhalation resistance measures a maximum of 20 Pa at 30 L/min and a maximum of 50 Pa at 95 L/min. Exhalation resistance is 60 Pa at 30 L/min. The inner mask reduces carbon dioxide content and regulates inhaled airflow to prevent fogging, which makes extended wear more tolerable in hot conditions.

The CM-7M is compatible with PAPR systems. It is not compatible with SCBA systems.

Hydration and communication

Each CM-7M ships with a pre-installed hydration system and canteen that allows safe drinking in contaminated environments at a flow rate of 230 ml/min. The system is compatible with CamelBak water bladders using a Type M adapter (not included). For CBRN applications, the CamelBak Chem-Bio Reservoir 4.0 is recommended; for non-CBRN use, the CamelBak Antidote Reservoir works well.

A built-in speech diaphragm with a minimum intelligibility rating of 95% makes verbal communication audible without electronic equipment. The mask is also compatible with the MIRA Safety Microphone accessory, which interfaces with Peltor headsets and supports radio integration including Baofeng UV-5R via the Peltor connection.

Comfort and construction

The internal airflow and drainage design channels sweat through the exhalation chamber rather than allowing it to pool in the chin area — a meaningful difference during extended, high-activity wear in hot conditions. The inner mask uses hypoallergenic natural rubber construction. Plastic components are polyoxymethylene and polyamide. The speech diaphragm is PET film.

Glasses cannot be worn with the CM-7M as they break the facepiece seal at the temples. The MIRA Vision Spectacle Kit (sold separately) provides a prescription lens solution inside the mask. For proper sealing, the face must be smooth and free of facial hair at all contact points.

The mask ships with a black plastic shape-retention insert that keeps the facepiece from deforming during storage. Store the insert in the mask when not in use, in a cool, dark location at 50–70°F with stable humidity. A waterproof hard case with silica gel packets works well for long-term storage.

Sizing

The CM-7M comes in three sizes based on facial height (nose bridge to chin) and bizygomatic width. Size 2 (Medium) fits approximately 95% of the adult population and serves as the default recommendation for average-sized users.

Size Facial Height Face Width (Bizygomatic) General Guideline
Size 1 — Small 108–120 mm (5.19–5.51 in) 125–140 mm Thinner face profiles, approx. 130 lb or under
Size 2 — Medium 120–128 mm (5.51–5.82 in) 140–148 mm Average adult — fits ~95% of users
Size 3 — Large 128–138 mm (5.82–6.14 in) 148–156 mm Wider face profiles, approx. 250 lb or over

Precise sizing requires a faciometer. A reliable field check: perform a negative-pressure test by putting the mask on, blocking the inhalation valve, and taking a deep breath. If the mask draws tight to the face without leaking air, the fit is correct. The size number is molded into the mask — 1 for Small, 2 for Medium, 3 for Large. Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the CM-7M and the CM-6M?

The CM-7M is purpose-designed for rifle use and optics compatibility. It features a dual recessed visor for eye relief and a contoured cheek-weld geometry above the inhalation valve. The CM-6M offers a wider field of view — 77.6% effective vs. 71.5% — and is the better choice when tactical rifle use is not a requirement. Think of them as different tools for different applications.

Does the CM-7M come with filters?

No. Filters are sold separately. The CM-7M accepts any standard 40mm NATO filter canister (Rd 40x1/7" thread per EN 148-1). One filter port cap ships with each mask. One or two canisters can be run at the same time depending on your preference and workload.

Can I wear glasses with the CM-7M?

No. Standard eyeglasses break the facepiece seal at the temples, which compromises protection. The MIRA Vision Spectacle Kit (sold separately) provides a prescription lens solution that mounts inside the mask without affecting the seal. A current prescription is required when ordering the kit.

Will the CM-7M seal properly with facial hair?

No. Any facial hair at the mask's contact points — including stubble, a beard, or sideburns — breaks the facepiece seal and reduces protection. The face must be smooth at all contact points. Hooded respirators running a PAPR setup are the only practical option for users who cannot shave.

What is the service life and how should the CM-7M be stored?

The storage and service life is 20 years from the date of production, provided recommended storage conditions are observed. Store the mask in a cool, dark location at 50–70°F with stable temperature and humidity. Keep the black plastic shape-retention insert installed during storage. A waterproof hard case with silica gel packets is an excellent storage method.

Is the CM-7M the same mask as the Czech military OM-90?

Yes. The CM-7M is the civilian designation of the OM-90 — the current-issue military gas mask of the Czech Armed Forces. It is not a downgraded civilian version; it is the same platform, produced in the same factory, to the same standards, by the same manufacturer. MIRA Safety holds a special license from the Czech government to offer new-production units directly to civilians worldwide.

The Bulletproof Zone Promise

When you buy body armor, you're buying your safety. We don't take that lightly. Here's what every order from Bulletproof Zone includes.

1. Authorized dealer of every brand we carry

Every plate, vest, and carrier we ship comes from the manufacturer directly to our warehouse. We don't sell gray-market product, surplus, or returns. That means factory-fresh stock, the full manufacturer warranty, and real after-sale support — the kind only an authorized dealer can offer.

We maintain authorized-dealer relationships with America's leading body armor brands, including Spartan Armor Systems, AR500 Armor, RMA Defense, Shellback Tactical, Caliber Armor, DFNDR Armor, Protection Group Denmark, BulletSafe, BulletBlocker, and over 40 more.

2. Best price, guaranteed

If you find a lower price at another authorized dealer of the same product within six months of your purchase, we'll refund the difference.

Why the "authorized dealer" requirement? Because gray-market and surplus armor may not be genuine, may have a compromised supply chain, and almost never comes with a manufacturer warranty. We won't price-match against products that may not actually protect you.

3. Free fitment consultation

Body armor only protects you if it fits. Email us a photo and your measurements before you order, and one of our specialists will help you size your carrier and plates correctly — at no charge, no obligation.

4. Trusted by thousands of customers

Bulletproof Zone has been a trusted authorized dealer of America's leading body armor manufacturers for over five years. We have over 4,000 verified Trustpilot reviews from real customers across all 50 states.

Price Match Guarantee — Terms

  • You must have purchased the item from our website before requesting the price match.
  • Discounted items and "free with purchase" items are not eligible.
  • The item must be in stock on the competitor's website at the time of your request.
  • The price match is valid for six months from the date of your purchase.
  • The competitor must be an authorized dealer of the product. Auction sites (eBay, Overstock), discounters, and gray-market resellers do not qualify.
  • The competitor must operate an online store. Brick-and-mortar-only retailers do not qualify.
  • Price match applies to the item price plus shipping. Sales tax is excluded.

To request a price match, email us a link to the product on our site and the same product on the competitor's site within six months of purchase. We'll process the refund.

Didn’t receive

After a lot of back and forth emails trying to verify info, I didn’t end up receiving what I purchased. So I don’t have anything to review. I recognize the package was out of their hands, but I was basically told by customer support that I was out of luck.
I just think if I spent over $300 that there would be a little more support with settling on a solution.
