Protection and standards
The CM-6M meets EN 136:1998 Class III, the European standard's highest classification for full-face respiratory protective devices. The polycarbonate visor independently meets EN 168 for impact protection, making it suitable for riot-control scenarios, non-lethal projectile environments, and debris-heavy operations. The mask requires an environment with at least 19.5% oxygen and is approved for use in Class 1 explosive environments.
The bromobutyl rubber facepiece provides high resistance to chemical agents and environmental degradation. Material integrity has been tested against S-Mustard gas for 30 hours, a standard blister agent used to benchmark CBRN equipment because it has the most degrading effect on rubber. When paired with an appropriate 40 mm NATO filter, the CM-6M protects against toxic industrial chemicals, particulates, organic vapors, chemical warfare agents, and CBRN contaminants including radioactive iodine when using the NBC-77 SOF filter.
Design and operational features
Dual 40 mm Rd × 1/7" filter ports allow left- or right-side filter placement. Only one port needs a filter during operation; the unused port must be sealed with the supplied plug. Running dual filters simultaneously reduces breathing resistance at the cost of added weight — single-filter use is recommended for most applications.
The hypoallergenic inner mask limits CO₂ buildup and prevents fogging during extended wear. A speech diaphragm delivers 95% speech intelligibility, supporting clear communication in loud or mission-critical environments. The six-point rubber-textile head harness provides a stable, adjustable fit across a wide range of adult head sizes. Fit confirmation requires a negative pressure test: exhale, cover the inhalation valve with the opposite port plugged, and inhale — a proper fit will draw the mask tight against the face without air leakage.
The integrated hydration system (optional variant) includes a 900 ml canteen and supports CamelBak compatibility via a Type M adapter (sold separately). The MIRA Vision Spectacle Kit (sold separately) accommodates prescription eyewear without breaking the mask's seal. The mask is also compatible with the TAPR-M Microphone and RVA (A.01) VPU Unit for enhanced communication, as well as the MB-90 PAPR system for reduced breathing resistance during extended operations.
One known operational limitation: the panoramic visor shape makes achieving a proper cheek weld with a rifle more difficult. A riser of at least 2 inches is recommended when using optics. Magnified optics are not recommended due to eye relief constraints. For rifle-centric tactical applications, the CM-7M is the better-suited tool.
Visor impact resistance
The polycarbonate visor meets EN 168 impact protection. Beyond standard testing, the visor held up to a CTS bean bag round fired from a 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun at 15 feet — no cracks, no punctures, no failures. It also withstood repeated blunt impacts from a Maglite flashlight baton with only minor scuffing. These tests were conducted outside a controlled laboratory environment; results may vary depending on projectile type and distance.
PROFILM visor protectors (sold separately) are compatible with the CM-6M and available in tinted variants. They allow a contaminated or obscured visor layer to be peeled away in seconds, restoring full visibility without removing the mask — a critical capability in riot conditions or chemical exposure scenarios.
Storage requirements
Store the CM-6M in a dark, cool, dust-free area away from sudden temperature changes. Storage temperature must remain between 10 °C and 25 °C with relative humidity no higher than 65%. The mask must not be exposed to direct sunlight or radiant heat. Do not store with fuels, solvents, lubricants, or other flammable substances. Keep away from electrical equipment that generates sparks, ozone, or electrostatic discharge. Avoid deforming the rubber facepiece or internal components during storage to preserve the seal and service life.

Frequently asked questions
Does the CM-6M come with filters?
No. Filters are sold separately. The mask uses any 40 mm NATO Rd × 1/7"-threaded filter. NBC-77 SOF CBRN filters are available as discounted add-ons during checkout. Keep unused filters vacuum-sealed until deployment — opening a filter exposes the activated carbon to ambient air and reduces its protective capacity.
Does the CM-6M require two filters to work?
No. One filter is sufficient for normal operation. The unused port must be sealed with the included plug. Running two filters simultaneously lowers breathing resistance but adds weight and bulk. Single-filter use is recommended for most applications.
Can this mask be used with a rifle or optics?
It depends. The panoramic visor makes achieving a full cheek weld difficult. With iron sights or a raised optic on at least a 2-inch riser, use is workable. Magnified optics are not recommended due to eye relief constraints. For dedicated rifle-use scenarios, the CM-7M's recessed dual-visor system is the better option.
Will this mask fit users with facial hair?
No. All gas masks rely on a continuous facepiece seal against bare skin. Any facial hair at the contact points — including short stubble — risks breaking the seal and compromising protection. Keep a beard trimmer in your kit for emergency deployment. Hooded PAPR systems are the only practical alternative for users who cannot be clean-shaven.
Is the CM-6M available in multiple sizes?
The CM-6M comes in one universal size designed to fit approximately 95% of the adult population. Users with very narrow or small faces — typically adults under 130 lbs with a thin face profile — may find a better fit in the CM-7M in size Small. Users over 250 lbs with wide faces should consider the CM-7M in size Large. Contact us if you need help selecting the right fit.
Can this mask be shipped to my state?
Gas masks are legal to purchase and possess in all 50 U.S. states for civilian use. No state-level restrictions apply to the CM-6M at the time of this writing. Under 18 U.S.C. § 931, individuals with a federal felony conviction for a crime of violence are prohibited from purchasing or possessing body armor — this federal restriction does not apply to gas masks. Export of CBRN protective equipment is subject to U.S. export regulations; international buyers should confirm import eligibility in their country before ordering.
Bulletproof Zone will ship orders as soon as possible. For example, if you purchase three items, they will be shipped to you based on lead time and availability. This way you get as much of your order as soon as possible, which means that your order may come in separate packages, especially if you order products from different manufacturers.
We will bear the shipping cost for products returned because of product defect, misrepresentation, or false description. Afterward, we will initiate a full reimbursement should you decline an offer to replace the item with the same item of equal value and assured quality.

Order Shipment:
Orders are shipped within five business days from the date of your order unless specified otherwise on the product page. The product page will contain the most accurate estimate on shipping and lead times. Shipping and lead times provided on the product page are our best estimates based various factors including order volume, information from our manufacturer, raw material fluctuations, etc., and may vary due to these factors.
You will receive an email containing the tracking information of your order after the order has been shipped to your location. If you do not receive tracking information from us within seven business days of the lead time specified on the product page, feel free to follow up with us at orders@bulletproofzone.com.
Bulletproof Zone is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. A tracking number will be provided when the package is shipped. It is the buyer’s responsibility to provide a safe place to receive mail. Once an item has been marked as delivered by the carrier, the seller is not responsible should that item go missing.
Some of our products are carried by manufacturers in various countries. Due to the nature and cost of the products that Bulletproof Zone sells, you may be charged additional import duties upon delivery. Our support team can help in investigating abnormally high import duty charges but we are unable to cover the cost of any import duties.
Damages:
We take full responsibility for any obvious damage to your product caused by wrong packaging or delivering an already defective product. Please inspect the packaging of your item(s) when they arrive, if you notice any damage, you should document it when signing for delivery. If the item(s) contained in the package arrives damaged, please send photos to support@bulletproofzone.com, and we will process an insurance claim on your behalf.
Returns and Cancellation Policy:
We back all our products with a customer satisfaction guarantee, so we created a fair return and cancellation policy.
All sales are final. No Refunds, No Cancellations. In most cases, once the order is processed, it is final and not cancellable. We may allow exceptions due to an order error or wish to return your order after delivery for any reason other than a product defect or misrepresentation. Any cancellation request is subject to an administration and cancellation fee equal to 10% of your order with a minimum of $35, whether order shipment is successful or not.
All sales are final on all closeout items and for custom manufactured bulletproof clothing once the manufacturing process has begun or not returnable unless there is a product defect or misrepresentation. Before returning any product, you MUST obtain a return authorization from our customer service representative. We can only process AUTHORIZED returns for items.
To make a Return or Exchange:

Return or exchanges request submission must be within 14 calendar days upon receipt of shipment unless noted otherwise on the product description page. Your return must be in original packaging and unused.
We encourage using USPS flat-rate shipping in returning products to receive a shipping expense refund. Buyers must ensure all returned parcels delivery receipt AND signature confirmation. We highly recommend insuring your parcel as we cannot issue a refund for an item that we do not receive back should it get lost/damaged during transit.
Refunds:
Should an item be returned because it was defective, misrepresented, not as described, etc., Bulletproof Zone will issue a full refund and will reimburse the customer for all shipping expenses associated with the return.
Please allow 5-10 business days from the time the item is received to process a refund. Refunds will only be issued to the original credit card that you use when placing your order.
