Tritium illumination
The Heavy Water Diver uses self-contained everglow tritium-vial lamps — the same technology found in pistol night sights — rather than luminescent paint. Tritium glows continuously without any light-charging step and will not fade overnight. The tritium vials sit 80% above the dial surface, making them readable from the edges of the watch face, not only from directly above. Tritium has a half-life of 12 years, meaning brightness reduces by half over that period; at the 12-year mark the watch still glows, just at half its current output. The bezel carries a dedicated tritium marker in the 12 o'clock porthole.
Case, crystal, and build quality
The 50mm case is machined from Grade 2 titanium with a bead-blast finish, available in natural titanium or PVD black. Titanium is hypoallergenic, corrosion-resistant, and substantially lighter than stainless steel without sacrificing durability. Case thickness measures 15 mm. The crystal is scratch-resistant sapphire with an anti-reflective coating on the interior surface to eliminate glare in direct light. The unidirectional dive bezel uses 60 click-stops for precise elapsed-time tracking. Bezel markers are machined — not printed — so they will not scratch or wear off. The dial features 3D military stencil-cut numerals in a two-layer design, an angled inner minutes ring for improved off-angle visibility, and an integrated 24-hour military time scale unique to this model. The date window sits at the 4 o'clock position. Broad, high-visibility hands and the raised numeral construction make the dial readable at a glance in low light without relying solely on tritium.
Movement and battery
The Ronda 515 Swiss quartz movement drives the three-hand display. Standard battery life runs approximately 2 years from installation; exposure to sustained heat or extreme cold can affect that figure. How does tritium illumination differ from standard lume paint?
Tritium vials glow continuously through a self-powered radioactive gas process — no exposure to light is needed to charge them, and they will not fade by morning the way photoluminescent paint does. The tradeoff is gradual dimming over time: tritium has a 12-year half-life, so at the 12-year mark the glow is half as bright as when new. The watch continues to illuminate well beyond that point, just at progressively reduced intensity.
Is the tritium safe to wear?
Yes. The tritium gas is fully sealed inside the glass vials. It poses no external radiation risk during normal wear. Tritium exit signs and military optics use the same technology. The only concern would be a physically shattered vial, which is an unlikely scenario given the sapphire crystal and titanium case construction.
What does Grade 2 titanium mean for everyday wear?
Grade 2 is commercially pure titanium — the most common grade used in watch cases. It is corrosion-resistant, hypoallergenic (suitable for sensitive skin), and roughly half the weight of a stainless-steel case of comparable size. The Heavy Water Diver case weighs approximately 3.8 oz on the bracelet, which is notable given the 50mm diameter.
How do I change the strap or bracelet?
The Heavy Water Diver uses screw-in strap pins rather than spring bars. Removal requires a Torx 6 screwdriver or bit, which is not included with the watch. This system makes band swaps more secure than a standard spring-bar design, though it does require the correct tool.
What is the battery life and how do I replace it?
The Ronda 515 runs on a Type 371 silver oxide battery with an expected life of approximately 2 years from the date of installation. Heat and cold extremes can shorten that window. When the battery needs replacement, any watchmaker or jeweler with quartz-watch experience can swap a Type 371 cell.
Is this watch appropriate for formal occasions despite the tactical styling?
Yes. The BlackTie Edition is specifically configured for dress crossover use. The titanium bracelet band, 3D stencil numerals, and sapphire crystal give it a polished appearance, and the PVD black case option reads as dress-watch sophisticated. Bulletproof Zone is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. A tracking number will be provided when the package is shipped. Due to the nature and cost of the products that Bulletproof Zone sells, you may be charged additional import duties upon delivery. Our support team can help in investigating abnormally high import duty charges but we are unable to cover the cost of any import duties.
Damages:
We take full responsibility for any obvious damage to your product caused by wrong packaging or delivering an already defective product. Returns and Cancellation Policy:

All sales are final. No Refunds, No Cancellations. In most cases, once the order is processed, it is final and not cancellable. We may allow exceptions due to an order error or wish to return your order after delivery for any reason other than a product defect or misrepresentation. Any cancellation request is subject to an administration and cancellation fee equal to 10% of your order with a minimum of $35, whether order shipment is successful or not.

Return or exchanges request submission must be within 14 calendar days upon receipt of shipment unless noted otherwise on the product description page. Your return must be in original packaging and unused.
We encourage using USPS flat-rate shipping in returning products to receive a shipping expense refund. Buyers must ensure all returned parcels delivery receipt AND signature confirmation. We highly recommend insuring your parcel as we cannot issue a refund for an item that we do not receive back should it get lost/damaged during transit.
Refunds:
Should an item be returned because it was defective, misrepresented, not as described, etc., Bulletproof Zone will issue a full refund and will reimburse the customer for all shipping expenses associated with the return.
Please allow 5-10 business days from the time the item is received to process a refund. Refunds will only be issued to the original credit card that you use when placing your order.
