This helmet carries a NIJ Level IIIA+ designation, meaning it surpasses the NIJ 0101.06 Level IIIA threshold. NIJ Level IIIA is the highest ballistic rating achievable in a wearable helmet form factor — no production helmet currently achieves an RF3 or Level IV rifle-defeating standard. The NIJ IIIA baseline requires a helmet to stop .357 SIG FMJ rounds at 1,469.82 fps and .44 Magnum rounds at 1,430.45 fps. Shell material and construction
The ballistic shell is Aramid — the same fiber class used in law-enforcement and military helmet programs — with a smooth-coat interior finish. The outer surface uses low-visibility paint that absorbs light rather than reflecting it, reducing visual signature in low-light environments. The construction is fire-, water-, and dust-resistant throughout. An all-weather shield on the exterior extends service life to 5–7 years under normal care and use. Each helmet ships with a QR-coded certification sticker linking directly to its individual test sheet, which documents the tested ammunition, angles, back-face deformation values, and distances.
Suspension and retention
The interior uses a ratcheting head-capture system that adjusts rapidly in the field and fits a wide range of head shapes within each size band. Two interior padding sets are included — one thinner set and one thicker — and they can be mixed and matched as needed, provided the tan safety padding layer remains in place. All padding attaches via Velcro and holds its shape over years of use. The four-point chin strap features a cloth chin grip for comfort and fully adjustable buckles for a secure, stable fit under movement and impact.
Mount compatibility
The ARC rail system runs in both vertical and horizontal configurations, accepting standard ARC-compatible accessories without proprietary adapters. An ARC-to-Picatinny adapter is included in the box, opening compatibility to the full range of Picatinny-standard lights, cameras, and communication mounts. An NVG shroud comes pre-installed (color-matched), compatible with standard multi-NVG mounts and Wilcox- or Norotos-style devices. A two-point bungee system integrates into the ARC rails. It depends on your state. Ballistic helmets cannot be shipped to New York or Connecticut due to state body armor restrictions. Under 18 U.S.C. § 931, anyone with a federal felony conviction for a crime of violence is prohibited from purchasing or possessing body armor. Subject to US export regulations.

Will this helmet stop rifle rounds like 5.56 or 7.62x39?
No. NIJ Level IIIA is the highest rating achievable in a wearable ballistic helmet. No production helmet stops centerfire rifle rounds such as 5.56x45 M193 or 7.62x39 MSC. The HOSDB RF1 standard referenced in this helmet's compliance list covers fragmentation and lower-energy projectiles, not high-velocity rifle fire.
What NVG mounts and rail accessories will fit this helmet?
The ARC rail system accepts all standard ARC-compatible accessories, and the included ARC-to-Picatinny adapter extends compatibility to Picatinny-standard mounts. The pre-installed NVG shroud is compatible with standard multi-NVG mounts, including Wilcox- and Norotos-style devices. ComTac headsets by 3M are also compatible. No proprietary adapters are required for standard military-configuration accessories.
How do I choose between S/M/L and L/XL/XXL?
Measure your head circumference just above the brow line. S/M/L fits 20–23 inches (50–59 cm), corresponding to US hat sizes 6 1/4 to 7 1/2. L/XL/XXL fits 22–27 inches (57–69 cm), corresponding to hat sizes 7 1/8 to 8 1/2+. What is the difference between the MICH and ACH, and how do they compare to PASGT?
The MICH (Modular Integrated Communications Helmet) was developed to replace the heavier PASGT, adding ARC attachment rails and NVG mount capability without drilling. The ACH followed with incremental refinements. Both designs sit lower-profile against the head than the PASGT for improved comfort and stability. The MICH/ACH design remains the standard available on the private market, as the US military has begun transitioning to the Enhanced Combat Helmet (ECH).

Bulletproof Zone is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. A tracking number will be provided when the package is shipped. Some of our products are carried by manufacturers in various countries. Due to the nature and cost of the products that Bulletproof Zone sells, you may be charged additional import duties upon delivery. Our support team can help in investigating abnormally high import duty charges but we are unable to cover the cost of any import duties.
Damages:
We take full responsibility for any obvious damage to your product caused by wrong packaging or delivering an already defective product. Returns and Cancellation Policy:

All sales are final. No Refunds, No Cancellations. In most cases, once the order is processed, it is final and not cancellable. We may allow exceptions due to an order error or wish to return your order after delivery for any reason other than a product defect or misrepresentation. Any cancellation request is subject to an administration and cancellation fee equal to 10% of your order with a minimum of $35, whether order shipment is successful or not.

We encourage using USPS flat-rate shipping in returning products to receive a shipping expense refund. Buyers must ensure all returned parcels delivery receipt AND signature confirmation. We highly recommend insuring your parcel as we cannot issue a refund for an item that we do not receive back should it get lost/damaged during transit.
Refunds:
