Waterproof zippers, a fully adjustable attached hood, and two-way side vents with access to sidearms make this jacket built around field use rather than casual wear. The jacket is currently available in MultiCam in an X-Large Long cut.

Built to Keep Working in Bad Weather

The Vertx Pro Recon Shell Jacket pairs a wind- and waterproof outer shell with a breathable construction, so moisture from rain and snow stays out without trapping heat during sustained activity. A zip-through storm collar with a zipper garage and locking shock cords at the hood and hem let the wearer seal out the elements quickly without fumbling with loose hardware.

Designed Around Gear Access

The two-way side zippers on the Vertx Pro Recon Shell Jacket run from the hem snaps up to the upper arms, giving fast access to a sidearm or other gear worn underneath without fully opening the jacket. Stretch cuffs with hook-and-loop adjustment tapes keep sleeves snug over gloves or base layers, and an extended tail adds coverage when moving or crouching.

Hood That Moves With You

The attached hood on the Recon Shell Jacket adjusts for both girth and front opening, allowing it to be cinched close enough to swivel with the wearer's head rather than rotating independently and cutting off peripheral vision. A visor is integrated into the hood, and a locking shock cord at the hem mirrors the hood's adjustability for a consistent, secure fit.

Features

Wind- and waterproof breathable shell: keeps rain and wind out while allowing moisture vapor to escape during active use

Adjustable attached hood with visor: girth and front-opening adjustments let the hood track with head movement rather than blocking sightlines

Waterproof zipper closures: front closure, right forearm pocket, and handwarmer pockets all use waterproof zippers

Two-way side zippers with hem snaps: extend from hem to upper arm for ventilation and access to sidearms or gear worn underneath

Left chest pocket with storm flap and removable credential pull-out: keeps credentials accessible without exposing the pocket interior to weather

Stretch cuffs with hook-and-loop adjustment: seal over gloves or base layers; two locking shock cords at the hem add a secondary weather seal

Specifications

Specification

Detail

Brand

Vertx

Shell

Wind- and waterproof breathable

Hood

Attached, with visor; girth and front-opening adjustable; locking shock cord

Collar

Zip-through storm collar with zipper garage

Pockets

Handwarmer pockets (fleece panel, waterproof zipper); left chest pocket (storm flap, removable credential pull-out); right forearm pocket (waterproof zipper)

Side vents

Two-way zippers, hem snaps to upper arm

Cuffs

Stretch with hook-and-loop adjustment tape

Hem

Extended tail; two locking shock cords

Available variant

MultiCam / X-Large / Long

Weight

1.4 lb

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Vertx Pro Recon Shell Jacket suits operators, law enforcement personnel, and tactical professionals who need reliable weather protection without sacrificing access to gear worn underneath.
