Built for professional military and law-enforcement users who need a clean, low-profile load platform with a fast-release capability, it weighs 2.87 lb and is available in Black, Olive, Coyote, and Multicam.

Clean Profile, Ready to Load

The Plate Carrier QR LC uses laser-cut MOLLE technology rather than traditional sewn webbing loops, producing a flatter, snag-reduced surface that keeps the carrier slim under a jacket or against vehicle interiors. Front and side areas retain full MOLLE compatibility, so users can add pouches, accessories, and mission-specific kit without the bulk of a webbing-heavy design.

Quick Exit When It Counts

The Plate Carrier QR LC ships with a quick-release system built around the ROC buckle (Rapid Open Connector), allowing the carrier to be shed rapidly without removing shoulder straps one at a time. For medical responders, vehicle crews, or anyone whose mission profile requires fast doffing, this mechanism is a practical operational feature rather than a convenience.

Adjustable Fit and Modular Side Sections

Shoulder straps adjust from a minimum of 11 inches (28 cm) to a maximum of 20 inches (52 cm), accommodating a wide range of torso lengths without swapping components. The switchable side sections accept pouches for ballistic side plates, letting users configure the carrier for soft-armor-only, hard-plate-only, or combined coverage as their threat assessment and budget allow. An integrated radio equipment pocket keeps communications gear accessible without consuming external MOLLE real estate.

Features

Laser-Cut MOLLE System: flat, snag-reduced webbing surface on front and side areas for individual extension

Quick-Release ROC Buckle: Rapid Open Connector for rapid carrier removal

SAPI Plate Compatibility: sized for 12x10 in (30x25 cm) SAPI plates

Switchable Side Sections: accept pouches for ballistic side plates

Integrated Radio Equipment Pocket: dedicated internal pocket keeps communications gear on-body

Adjustable Shoulder Straps: 11 in (28 cm) minimum to 20 in (52 cm) maximum

Specifications

Specification

Black / Olive / Coyote

Multicam

Weight

2.87 lb

2.87 lb

Material

CORDURA 700 denier

CORDURA 500 denier

Plate Compatibility

SAPI 12x10 in (30x25 cm)

Shoulder Strap Range

11 in (28 cm) – 20 in (52 cm)

MOLLE System

Laser-cut, front and sides

Quick-Release

ROC buckle (Rapid Open Connector)

Available Colors

Black, Olive, Coyote, Multicam

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Plate Carrier QR LC suits military personnel, law-enforcement officers, and security professionals who need a lightweight, low-profile carrier for standard SAPI plates with a fast-release capability. The wide shoulder-strap adjustment range makes it workable across a broad range of body sizes, and the modular side sections allow the carrier to grow with changing mission requirements.

This carrier is a platform only and carries no ballistic protection rating of its own. Protection level depends entirely on the plates and side-armor inserts the user supplies separately. The carrier is sized specifically for 12x10 in SAPI plates; users requiring a different plate size should verify fit before purchase. No ballistic certification applies to the carrier itself.

Common Questions

What plate size does the Tasmanian Tiger Plate Carrier QR LC accept?

The Plate Carrier QR LC is designed for SAPI plates measuring 12x10 inches (30x25 cm). Plates are not included with the carrier. Users should confirm their plate dimensions match this size before purchasing, as the carrier is built specifically around this format.

How does the quick-release system work?

The Plate Carrier QR LC uses a ROC buckle (Rapid Open Connector) as its quick-release mechanism. This allows the carrier to be removed rapidly in a single action rather than requiring the wearer to work through individual shoulder-strap adjustments, which can be important in medical or vehicle-egress situations.

Does the carrier include ballistic protection?

The Plate Carrier QR LC is a carrier platform only and has no ballistic rating of its own. Ballistic protection depends on the armor plates and any side-plate pouches the user installs. No plates or ballistic inserts are included. Users are responsible for selecting plates appropriate to their threat assessment.

Is the material the same across all colors?

Black, Olive, and Coyote variants of the Plate Carrier QR LC use CORDURA 700 denier fabric. The Multicam variant uses CORDURA 500 denier fabric. All four variants share the same weight of 2.87 lb and the same feature set.

Can the Plate Carrier QR LC be shipped to any US state?

The Tasmanian Tiger Plate Carrier QR LC is a carrier platform with no ballistic rating and is not body armor. Under 18 U.S.C. § 931, anyone with a federal felony conviction for a crime of violence is prohibited from purchasing or possessing body armor.
