Its circumferential side-opening zipper and three-sided handle system allow the pack to be deployed horizontally or vertically, and to be carried or hung open during treatment. Available in Red, Black, Olive, Coyote, and Multicam.

Built for Rapid Casualty Response

The Tasmanian Tiger Modular Medic Combat Pack 18 opens with a circumferential zipper along the side, exposing the full main compartment without the pack needing to be set down in a specific orientation. Loops on the pack allow it to be hung horizontally while open, keeping both hands free during treatment. Two sturdy side handles are sized and positioned for dragging or carrying a wounded person out of a danger zone, a function distinct from the padded back-carry system used during movement.

Organized Internal Layout

The main compartment is built around two removable panels made of Tegris, a lightweight, rigid thermoplastic composite, with fastening accessories to hold supplies in place. A removable pouch with a transparent lid, a long color-coded zippered pouch, a removable IV bag pouch, and an insert pocket for patient cards are all included. MOLLE hook-and-loop surfaces on the interior allow further customization as kit requirements change. Three front pockets each carry different internal compartments, with hook-and-loop surfaces on the exterior for labeling strips or snap light inserts.

Adaptable Carry and Attachment

The padded back-carry system includes stowable, padded, and removable shoulder straps, so the pack can transition between back-carry and hand-carry without tools. A compression sleeve at the bottom of the pack is sized for a rescue sling, though the sling itself is not included. Lateral laser-cut loops allow tourniquet attachment to the exterior. An included adapter allows the pack to be fixed directly to a plate carrier, keeping it accessible without a separate carry frame. The pack measures 18 x 10 x 6.7 inches and weighs 4.25 lbs.

Features

Circumferential side-opening zipper: exposes the full main compartment for rapid access in any carry orientation

Tegris removable panels: two lightweight, rigid panels with fastening accessories organize and secure trauma supplies

Three-sided handle system: two side handles for casualty drag/carry, one top handle for standard lift

Plate carrier adapter included: mounts the pack directly to a plate carrier without additional hardware

Lateral laser cuts: allow external tourniquet attachment on both sides

NTOA Silver Score (2026): received an overall score of 4.43 out of 5 in the NTOA Member Tested and Recommended Program, reviewed by law enforcement officers

Specifications

Specification

Value

Volume

18 L / 1,098 cu in

Weight

4.25 lbs / 1.93 kg

Dimensions

18 x 10 x 6.7 in / 45.75 x 25.4 x 17 cm

Material (standard colors)

CORDURA 700 denier

Material (Multicam)

CORDURA 500 denier

Internal panel material

Tegris (thermoplastic composite)

Carry system

Padded back system with stowable, removable shoulder straps

Available colors

Red, Black, Olive, Coyote, Multicam

Included accessories

Removable Tegris panels, transparent-lid pouch, color-coded zippered pouch, IV bag pouch, patient card pocket, plate carrier adapter

Not included

Rescue sling, medical supplies

NTOA rating (2026)

Silver Score, 4.43 / 5.0

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Tasmanian Tiger Modular Medic Combat Pack 18 suits law enforcement officers, military medics, and tactical first responders who need a structured, rapidly deployable trauma kit that can mount to a plate carrier or be carried independently. The horizontal-open configuration and drag handles make it well suited to two-person casualty care scenarios.

This pack does not include medical supplies or a rescue sling; buyers must source those separately. The internal layout is purpose-built for medical kit organization and does not include hydration compatibility or laptop sleeves, making it a poor fit for general-purpose patrol or administrative carry. The Multicam variant uses 500-denier CORDURA rather than the 700-denier fabric used in other color options.

Common Questions

What does the circumferential zipper opening actually allow?

The circumferential zipper on the Tasmanian Tiger Modular Medic Combat Pack 18 runs along the side of the pack and opens the entire main compartment in one motion. A medic can access the full interior, including panels, pouches, and the IV bag pouch, without removing the pack from a surface or repositioning it. Loops on the pack allow it to hang horizontally while open, freeing both hands during treatment.

What is Tegris and why does it matter for a medic pack?

Tegris is a lightweight thermoplastic composite material used for the two removable internal panels in the Tasmanian Tiger Modular Medic Combat Pack 18. It is rigid enough to hold supplies in a fixed layout under movement but light enough not to add significant pack weight. The panels are removable, so the internal configuration can be changed as kit requirements shift.

Can this pack attach to a plate carrier?

Yes. The Tasmanian Tiger Modular Medic Combat Pack 18 includes an adapter for fixation on plate carriers. This allows the pack to be worn or mounted on a carrier without a separate attachment system. The pack can also be carried independently using the padded back system with stowable, removable shoulder straps, or by its three handles.

Is the rescue sling included?

No. The Tasmanian Tiger Modular Medic Combat Pack 18 has a compression sleeve at the bottom sized to hold a rescue sling, but the sling itself is not included and must be sourced separately. Medical supplies are also not included.

What is the NTOA Silver Score?

The NTOA Member Tested and Recommended Program has law enforcement officers evaluate tactical equipment under real conditions. The Tasmanian Tiger Modular Medic Combat Pack 18 received a Silver Score in the 2026 program with an overall rating of 4.43 out of 5.0, indicating it met the program's threshold for a member-recommended designation.

Does this pack ship to all US states?

The Tasmanian Tiger Modular Medic Combat Pack 18 is a tactical backpack, not body armor, and is not subject to the state body armor shipping restrictions that apply to ballistic products. Standard US shipping restrictions and export regulations apply.
