streamlight-sledge-rechargeable-flood-headlamp
Streamlight Sledge Rechargeable Flood Headlamp

The Streamlight Sledge is a low-profile flood headlamp built for professional use, delivering up to 600 lumens on High with a 4.25-hour runtime and a THRO burst mode that reaches 1,000 lumens for short-duration tasks requiring extra brightness. It runs on either the included rechargeable SL-B26 battery pack or two CR123A batteries, and its 45-degree tilting head adapts to hands-free reading and close work. One variant is available.

Built for Extended Hands-Free Use

The Sledge's flood beam spreads light broadly across a work area rather than throwing a narrow spot, which suits tasks where full situational awareness or wide-area illumination matters more than distance. The 45-degree tilting head lets the user direct light precisely: angled down for reading a map or instrument panel, or leveled forward for navigation, without repositioning the headlamp on the head. The multi-function push-button switch is designed to operate with gloves on, keeping the light accessible when dexterity is reduced by cold or protective handwear.

Flexible Power, Predictable Runtime

The Sledge accepts two power sources: the included SL-B26 rechargeable battery pack, or two CR123A lithium batteries as a field-expedient alternative. This dual-fuel design means the headlamp remains usable even when a recharge is not possible. High mode runs for 4.25 hours at 600 lumens; Low mode extends runtime to 13 hours, making it practical for overnight operations or extended shifts where battery swaps are not convenient.

Durable Enough for Demanding Conditions

The Sledge carries an IPX4 water-resistance rating, meaning it is protected against water splashing from any direction, which is sufficient for rain or wet working conditions. It has also been impact-resistance tested to 2 meters. These ratings reflect the headlamp's design for professional environments where gear is expected to take incidental abuse without failing.

Features

Four output modes: High (600 lm), Medium, Low, and THRO (1,000 lm burst)

Dual-fuel compatibility: SL-B26 rechargeable pack (included) or two CR123A batteries

45-degree tilting head: adjustable for reading, close work, or forward illumination

Glove-compatible switch: multi-function push-button operable with gloves

IPX4 water resistance: protected against water splash from any direction

2-meter impact resistance: tested to withstand drops to 2 meters

Specifications

Specification

Value

Brand

Streamlight

Model

Sledge

High output

600 lumens

THRO burst output

1,000 lumens (short duration)

Runtime, High

4.25 hours

Runtime, Low

Up to 13 hours

Battery, primary

SL-B26 rechargeable pack (included)

Battery, alternate

Two CR123A batteries

Water resistance

IPX4

Impact resistance

2-meter tested

Head tilt

45 degrees

Country of origin

China

SKU

KRC-STRE-89019

UPC

080926890190

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Streamlight Sledge suits professionals and serious users who need reliable, hands-free flood illumination across extended shifts, including tradespeople, emergency responders, and outdoor workers who may not have access to a power source for recharging and need the CR123A fallback option.

The Sledge is a flood headlamp, not a long-throw spotlight; it is not suited for tasks requiring focused distance illumination. It is rated IPX4 (splash-resistant), not submersion-rated, and should not be used in submerged or high-pressure water environments.

Common Questions

What output modes does the Streamlight Sledge have?

The Streamlight Sledge has four modes: High (600 lumens, 4.25-hour runtime), Medium, Low (up to 13-hour runtime), and THRO, a short-duration burst mode that reaches 1,000 lumens when maximum brightness is briefly needed. Switching between modes is handled by the multi-function push-button, which is operable with gloves.

Can the Sledge run on standard batteries if the rechargeable pack is not available?

Yes. The Streamlight Sledge accepts either the included SL-B26 rechargeable battery pack or two CR123A lithium batteries. This dual-fuel design means the headlamp can remain operational in the field when recharging is not possible, using widely available CR123A cells as an alternative.

Is the Streamlight Sledge waterproof?

The Streamlight Sledge carries an IPX4 water-resistance rating, which means it is protected against water splashing from any direction. It is not rated for submersion or high-pressure water exposure. For wet working conditions involving rain or splash, IPX4 is sufficient; for underwater use, it is not appropriate.

What does the tilting head on the Sledge allow?

The Streamlight Sledge's head tilts up to 45 degrees, letting the user angle the flood beam downward for reading, instrument work, or close tasks without removing or repositioning the headlamp. This adjustability is particularly useful when switching between hands-free navigation and stationary close work during the same task.
