rothco-wool-blanket
Rothco Wool Blanket

The Rothco Wool Blanket is a heavyweight, service-style blanket woven from 70% virgin wool and 30% synthetic material, designed for camping, hiking, hunting, and emergency preparedness. The wool construction provides natural insulation and fire-retardant properties without chemical treatment. Two sizes are available: 62" x 80", which fits most cots, and 66" x 90", suited for twin-size beds.

Natural Insulation That Works in Harsh Conditions

Wool retains warmth even when damp, making the Rothco Wool Blanket a reliable choice when conditions shift unexpectedly. The 70% virgin woven wool composition drives that thermal performance, while the 30% synthetic blend adds durability and helps the blanket hold its shape through repeated use. For camping or field situations where synthetic fill might compress and lose loft, a wool-blend blanket maintains its insulating value under sustained load and moisture.

Fire-Retardant by Nature

Wool is inherently fire-retardant, meaning the Rothco Wool Blanket does not rely on chemical flame-retardant treatments to meet that standard. Around a campfire or in an emergency scenario where open flame is a concern, a naturally fire-retardant blanket reduces one variable without requiring the buyer to verify a treatment schedule or expiration. This property is built into the fiber, not applied after the fact.

Two Sizes for Different Sleeping Arrangements

The 62" x 80" size is cut to fit most military-style cots and compact sleeping setups. The 66" x 90" size covers a standard twin-size bed and provides additional coverage for taller users or those who want extra overlap when wrapping. Both sizes are available in Olive Drab and Grey; Navy Blue is offered in the 62" x 80" size only. Variant weights range from approximately 3.2 lb to 4 lb depending on size and color.

Features

Wool-blend construction: 70% virgin woven wool and 30% synthetic material for warmth and durability

Natural fire-retardant properties: Wool fiber resists ignition without chemical treatment

Two size options: 62" x 80" for cots; 66" x 90" for twin-size beds

Three color options: Olive Drab, Grey, and Navy Blue

Service-style cut: Heavyweight construction suited to outdoor and emergency use

Specifications

Specification

62" x 80"

66" x 90"

Material

70% Virgin Woven Wool / 30% Synthetic

Colors Available

Olive Drab, Grey, Navy Blue

Olive Drab, Grey

Weight (Olive Drab)

3.75 lb

4 lb

Weight (Grey)

3.7 lb

3.75 lb

Weight (Navy Blue)

3.2 lb

Not available in this size

Style

Heavyweight service-style

Origin

India

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Rothco Wool Blanket suits campers, hunters, hikers, and anyone building an emergency kit who wants a durable, naturally insulating blanket that performs in cold or damp conditions.
