Constructed from 600 denier polyester, the carrier is available in Black and Coyote Brown in a Regular size.

Built Light, Worn Long

The skeletonized cummerbund design strips away bulk at the sides, cutting overall carrier weight while opening airflow around the torso. Inside the vest, stretch material and mesh padding channel cooling air against the wearer's body, a meaningful difference during extended operations or training sessions where heat buildup leads to fatigue. The Black variant is listed at 2 lb and the Coyote Brown variant at 1.5 lb.

Organized for Fast Access

Three rifle magazine pouches sit near the waist, each secured with hook-and-loop closures and elastic cords so a shooter can retrieve additional ammunition quickly without fumbling. Three integrated pistol magazine pockets on the chest keep sidearm magazines immediately at hand. A loop panel on the chest accepts flags and morale patches for unit identification or personalization.

Adaptable Fit and Extraction Ready

Two slide-adjustment buckles allow optional single-strap closure configurations, letting the wearer dial in fit across a wide torso range. Removable hook-and-loop shoulder pads include hydration hose loops and air mesh padding, and can be taken off entirely when not needed. A drag handle on the back provides a secure grip point for emergency extraction, useful for range instructors, team leaders, or anyone working in a buddy system.

Features

Laser-cut MOLLE system: over 20 rows of slots for attaching compatible pouches and accessories

Skeletonized cummerbund: reduces weight and improves side ventilation

Integrated magazine storage: 3 rifle mag pouches (waist) and 3 pistol mag pockets (chest)

Removable shoulder pads: hook-and-loop sealed, with hydration hose loops and air mesh padding

Drag handle: rear-mounted for emergency extraction

Loop chest panel: accepts flags and morale patches

Specifications

Specification

Black / Regular

Coyote Brown / Regular

SKU

RTC-1529

RTC-1528

Weight

2 lb

1.5 lb

Material

600 Denier Polyester

Waist adjustment

Approximately 39 in to 49 in

Plate compatibility

Medium to large plates (sold separately)

MOLLE rows

Over 20 laser-cut rows

Origin

China

California Prop 65

Contains Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP)

Who This Is For and Isn't

This carrier suits tactical shooters, range users, and training personnel who want a lightweight, modular platform to mount their own medium or large ballistic plates alongside a full complement of magazine storage. The wide waist adjustment range makes it workable across a broad range of body sizes.

This vest is an empty carrier and ships without plates or soft armor inserts of any kind, so it provides no ballistic protection on its own. No protection rating applies to the carrier itself. Export of this item outside the United States is restricted; contact BPZ before ordering for international shipment.

Common Questions

Do ballistic plates come included with this carrier?

No. The Rothco Laser Cut MOLLE Lightweight Armor Carrier Vest ships as an empty carrier only. No ballistic plates, soft armor panels, or inserts of any kind are included. Buyers must source and insert their own medium or large plates separately. The carrier itself carries no ballistic rating.

What plate sizes does this carrier fit?

The Rothco Laser Cut MOLLE Lightweight Armor Carrier Vest accommodates medium to large ballistic plates. Waist adjustment runs from approximately 39 inches to 49 inches. Consult the size chart for full fit details before purchasing plates to pair with this carrier.

How does the MOLLE system work on this vest?

The carrier features over 20 rows of laser-cut MOLLE slots across the exterior. Any standard MOLLE-compatible pouch, utility attachment, or accessory can be threaded through these slots and secured. The laser-cut construction keeps the webbing low-profile compared to traditional sewn MOLLE strips.

Can the shoulder pads be removed?

Yes. The Rothco carrier's shoulder pads attach via hook-and-loop closures and can be removed entirely when not needed. When installed, they include hydration hose loops and air mesh padding. Removal reduces weight and bulk for users who prefer a minimal shoulder profile.

What is the drag handle used for?

The drag handle on the back of the Rothco Laser Cut MOLLE Lightweight Armor Carrier Vest provides a reinforced grip point for emergency extraction, so a teammate can pull an incapacitated wearer to cover. It is a standard feature on tactical carriers used in training and operational environments.

Is this vest subject to any export restrictions?

Yes. The Rothco Laser Cut MOLLE Lightweight Armor Carrier Vest is restricted for export and may not be sold for use in certain countries outside the United States.
