Type Flame and Heat Resistant Flight Gloves are tactical hand protection built for pilots, law enforcement, firefighters, first responders, active-duty personnel, and outdoor enthusiasts who need flame and heat resistant coverage without sacrificing hand mobility. The palm and fingers are constructed from sheepskin leather, and the gloves extend to cover the wrist. Available in Black, AR 670-1 Coyote Brown, Olive Drab, and Foliage Green in sizes 7 through 12, depending on color.

Flame and Heat Resistant Construction

The Rothco Flight Gloves are made with flame and heat resistant fabric and thread throughout, paired with a sheepskin leather palm and fingers. That combination means resistance is built into the material itself rather than added as a separate liner, keeping the construction straightforward and the glove light at 0.25 lb per pair. For anyone working around open flame, hot surfaces, or aircraft environments, having resistance built into the fabric reduces the risk of the glove contributing to a hazard rather than mitigating one.

Dexterity Through Leather Construction

Sheepskin leather covers the palm and fingers, the areas that take the most contact and friction during work. Leather at these points maintains tactile feedback and grip while adding durability against abrasion. The design keeps the glove functional for tasks requiring hand control, such as operating controls, handling equipment, or working with tools, rather than trading dexterity for bulk.

Wrist Coverage for Additional Protection

The Rothco Flight Gloves extend past the hand to cover the wrist, closing the gap between glove cuff and sleeve that can otherwise leave skin exposed. For cold weather use or environments with heat and flame exposure, wrist coverage reduces the unprotected area without requiring a separate gaiter or wrap. These gloves are suited for cold weather conditions.

Features

Flame and heat resistant fabric and thread: material and stitching resist flame and heat throughout the glove body

Sheepskin leather palm and fingers: durable leather at high-contact areas maintains grip and dexterity

Extended wrist coverage: glove cuff covers the wrist for additional protection

Cold weather construction: suited for cold weather conditions

ISO Certified: carries ISO certification; the specific ISO standard is not stated

AR 670-1 Coyote Brown option: Coyote Brown color variant is labeled AR 670-1 compliant

Specifications

Specification

Detail

Brand

Rothco

Palm and Finger Material

Sheepskin Leather

Body Material

Flame and heat resistant fabric and thread

Flame Resistant

Yes

Weather Suitability

Cold Weather

Weight (per pair)

0.25 lb

Certification

ISO Certified (specific standard not stated)

Country of Origin

Pakistan

Available Colors

Black, AR 670-1 Coyote Brown, Olive Drab, Foliage Green

Available Sizes

7–12 (range varies by color; see variant selector)

California Prop 65

Contains Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP)

Who This Is For and Isn't

These gloves suit pilots, law enforcement officers, firefighters, first responders, active-duty military personnel, and outdoor enthusiasts who need flame and heat resistant hand protection with wrist coverage.
