rocky-code-red-rescue-fire-boot
Rocky Code Red Rescue Fire Boot

The Rocky Code Red Rescue is an eight-inch, composite toe fire boot built for structural and wildland firefighting and emergency rescue response. Certified to both NFPA 1977 and NFPA 1999, it meets ASTM F2413 standards for protective toe, electrical hazard, and puncture plate. Available in Regular and Wide widths, sizes 8 through 13.

Built for the Demands of Emergency Response

The Rocky Code Red Rescue carries dual NFPA certifications: NFPA 1977 (wildland firefighting) and NFPA 1999 (emergency medical operations). Each certification reflects testing against the specific performance requirements of its discipline. For firefighters and EMS personnel who respond to varied calls, that dual certification removes the guesswork about whether a single boot covers the job.

Protection Layered Into the Construction

The upper is made from fire-resistant leather with a Stedfast thermal barrier and waterproofing built in, providing a barrier against heat, moisture, and bloodborne pathogens without adding bulk. The composite toe meets ASTM F2413 protective toe classification. The boot also meets ASTM F2413 electrical hazard and puncture plate standards, addressing three distinct hazard categories in one boot. Triple-stitched construction and a side-stitched rubber outsole add structural durability under repeated hard use.

Grip and Comfort Over a Long Shift

The Vibram 148 Fire and Ice Compound outsole is designed for traction across the temperature extremes common in fire and rescue environments. A fiberglass shank provides midfoot rigidity and support underfoot. Speed laces allow fast donning and doffing, a practical advantage when response time matters. The footbed (listed as the Terra Suspension Footbed in product specifications and as the Rocky Air-Port footbed in the product description; see Review Flags) provides cushioning and support for extended wear.

Features

Dual NFPA Certification: Certified to NFPA 1977 and NFPA 1999

ASTM F2413 Compliance: Meets protective toe, electrical hazard, and puncture plate standards

Vibram 148 Fire and Ice Outsole: Compound formulated for fire and rescue temperature extremes

Fire-Resistant Leather Upper: With Stedfast thermal barrier and waterproofing

Bloodborne Pathogen Resistant: Stated protection for EMS and rescue environments

Speed Laces and Triple-Stitched Construction: Fast lacing and reinforced durability

Specifications

Specification

Detail

Boot Height

8 inches

Toe Type

Composite toe

Upper Material

Fire-resistant leather

Outsole

Vibram 148 Fire and Ice Compound, side-stitched rubber

Shank

Fiberglass

Certifications

NFPA 1977, NFPA 1999

ASTM Standards Met

F2413 protective toe, F2413 electrical hazard, F2413 puncture plate

Thermal Barrier

Stedfast

Bloodborne Pathogen Resistant

Yes

Lacing System

Speed laces

Construction

Triple-stitched

Available Widths

Regular, Wide

Available Sizes

8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 11, 11.5, 12, 12.5, 13 (Regular); 11.5, 12, 12.5 (Wide)

Approximate Weight (per pair, varies by size)

5.87 lb (size 8 Regular) to 6.89 lb (size 13 Regular)

Color

Black

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Rocky Code Red Rescue is suited for structural and wildland firefighters, EMS personnel, and emergency rescue responders who need a single boot covering both NFPA 1977 and NFPA 1999 environments.
