The outsole exceeds both EN 20345:2022 and ASTM F3445-21 slip-resistance standards. The boot is metal-free throughout and available in Regular width across sizes 8 through 12.

Built to Move With You

The AERO-TAC H2O's poly mesh upper is reinforced with hyperfused TPU layers rather than traditional stitched overlays, keeping the boot flexible and reducing break-in time. The interior is lined with poly mesh treated with Aegis anti-microbial technology, which limits odor and bacterial growth during extended shifts. YKK zippers on the side entry mean the boot goes on and comes off quickly without unlacing, a practical advantage at the start and end of a long tour.

Waterproof Without Sacrificing Breathability

The HydroGuard Bootie membrane blocks moisture from entering while still allowing vapor to escape, so feet stay dry in wet conditions without the trapped heat common to fully sealed boots. The Ortholite insole uses open-cell foam technology that compresses and rebounds underfoot, maintaining cushioning over the course of a full shift rather than packing out early. The proprietary EVA/TPU midsole blend adds structure and shock absorption between the insole and outsole.

Grip and Underfoot Support

The REZ-TRAC outsole is rated to exceed EN 20345:2022 and ASTM F3445-21 slip-resistance standards, meaning it has been tested against defined thresholds for traction on wet and contaminated surfaces. The nylon shank runs through the midsole to limit torsional flex and support the arch during prolonged standing or uneven-terrain movement. A TPU toe cap adds impact protection at the front of the boot without adding significant weight.

Features

HydroGuard Bootie membrane: waterproof barrier that retains breathability

Hyperfused TPU upper: poly mesh reinforced with fused TPU layers for durability and flexibility

REZ-TRAC outsole: exceeds EN 20345:2022 and ASTM F3445-21 slip-resistance standards

Aegis anti-microbial lining: poly mesh interior treatment that limits odor and bacterial growth

Ortholite open-cell insole: cushioning that rebounds over extended wear

Metal-free construction: passes metal-detector screening without removal

Specifications

Specification

Detail

Upper

Poly mesh with hyperfused TPU layers

Interior lining

Poly mesh with Aegis anti-microbial treatment

Waterproof membrane

HydroGuard Bootie

Insole

Ortholite with open-cell technology

Midsole

Proprietary EVA/TPU foam blend

Shank

Nylon

Toe protection

TPU toe cap

Zippers

YKK

Outsole slip resistance

Exceeds EN 20345:2022 and ASTM F3445-21

Metal-free

Yes

Stated weight (standard 8" model)

15.5 oz

Shaft height

8 inches

Width

Regular

Available sizes

8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 11, 11.5, 12

Who This Is For and Isn't

This boot suits law enforcement officers, security professionals, and first responders who need a lightweight, waterproof duty boot for patrol, shift work, or field response. This is the same principle used in breathable waterproof membranes across the footwear industry. The poly mesh upper and lining support airflow on the interior side of the membrane, reducing heat buildup during active wear.

What does "metal-free" mean in practice for this boot?

The AERO-TAC H2O is constructed without metal components throughout, including the shank (nylon rather than steel) and the toe cap (TPU rather than steel or alloy). This means the boot will not trigger standard metal detectors, which is relevant for officers and security personnel who regularly pass through screening equipment at courthouses, detention facilities, or secured buildings.

What slip-resistance standards does the outsole meet?

The REZ-TRAC outsole on the AERO-TAC H2O is stated to exceed EN 20345:2022 and ASTM F3445-21, both of which are defined test standards for slip resistance on wet and contaminated surfaces. Exceeding these thresholds means the outsole performed above the minimum traction values those standards require, not merely at them.

Does the Ortholite insole hold up over a full shift?

Ortholite insoles use open-cell foam technology designed to compress and rebound repeatedly rather than packing out flat over time. For the AERO-TAC H2O, this means the cushioning underfoot should remain functional across a full duty shift rather than degrading to a flat, unsupportive layer after the first few hours of wear.

Can this boot ship to my state?

The First Tactical AERO-TAC H2O Side-Zip Boot is footwear, not body armor, and is not subject to the state body armor shipping restrictions that apply to ballistic products. No state-level shipping restrictions apply to this boot based on available information. Standard shipping eligibility applies; contact us if you have questions about your order.
