Special Tritium Lensatic Compass is a military-pattern lensatic compass built for reliable navigation in extreme conditions, rated functional from -50°F to +150°F and constructed with an aluminum frame and waterproof housing. Designed for individual navigators, field personnel, and outdoor users who need accurate readings in low-light or harsh environments, it is available in Olive Drab and ships as a single unit with a carrying pouch and belt clip.

Built for Extreme Conditions

The Cammenga G.I. Special Tritium Lensatic Compass is rated shock-proof, water-proof, and sand-proof, and remains functional across a temperature range of -50°F to +150°F. That range covers arctic cold and desert heat, meaning the compass does not rely on ambient conditions to stay operational. The aluminum frame and waterproof housing provide the structural durability to withstand rough handling in the field.

Low-Light Navigation Without Batteries

Seven Tritium Micro Lights illuminate the compass dial for navigation in low-light and no-light conditions without requiring batteries or an external light source. Tritium is a self-luminous material, so the compass remains readable in darkness without any action from the user. This makes the Cammenga G.I. Special a practical choice for operations that extend past daylight hours.

Accurate Readings, Liquid-Free Dampening

The compass is equipped with a magnifying lens, a sighting wire, and dial graduations marked in both degrees and mils, supporting the precise azimuth readings that lensatic navigation requires. The copper induction dampening system slows magnet rotation without the use of liquids, eliminating the risk of bubble formation or fluid leakage that can affect liquid-filled compasses in extreme temperatures.

Features

Shock, Water, and Sand Proof: rated for rugged field use in harsh environments

Temperature Range -50°F to +150°F: functional across extreme cold and heat

Seven Tritium Micro Lights: battery-free low-light and no-light readability

Magnifying Lens and Sighting Wire: supports precise lensatic navigation technique

Dual-Scale Dial: graduated in both degrees and mils for accurate azimuth readings

Copper Induction Dampening: liquid-free magnet stabilization

Includes Carrying Pouch and Belt Clip: ready to carry as issued

Specifications

Specification

Detail

Brand

Cammenga

Color

Olive Drab

Frame Material

Aluminum

Housing

Waterproof

Operating Temperature

-50°F to +150°F

Illumination

Seven Tritium Micro Lights (self-luminous, no batteries)

Dampening System

Copper induction (liquid-free)

Dial Graduations

Degrees and mils

Included Accessories

Carrying pouch, belt clip

Product Origin

USA

Weight

0.44 lb

Market Approval

Approved for Japanese Market

California Prop 65

Contains Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP)

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Cammenga G.I.
