A full-grain leather and durable nylon mesh upper pairs with a YKK Vision side zipper for fast don and doff. Available in Coyote in Regular width, with sizes 10.5 and 11.

Built for Speed of Entry

The Altama Vengeance SR 8 Side-Zip centers its design on the YKK Vision zipper, a side-zip closure recognized for durability, paired with a hook-and-loop tab-stay that keeps the zipper secured once the boot is on. For buyers whose role demands they get moving quickly, eliminating the time spent lacing a traditional boot is a practical advantage that compounds across every shift or deployment.

Upper Construction and Debris Management

The boot's upper combines full-grain leather at the vamp with a durable nylon mesh balance for reduced weight without sacrificing structure. A gusseted tongue seals the gap between tongue and upper, reducing the amount of dirt and debris that works its way inside during movement through loose terrain. Durable polymer speed lace eyelets support the lace system as a secondary closure option.

Interior Comfort Over Extended Wear

Inside, a moisture-wicking air mesh lining moves perspiration away from the foot during sustained activity. The lining incorporates AEGIS antimicrobial protection, which works to limit odor and microbial buildup. This is a meaningful feature for buyers wearing the boot through long shifts or in warm environments where foot hygiene is harder to manage.

Features

Full-grain leather and nylon mesh upper: combines structure at the vamp with reduced weight across the balance of the upper

YKK Vision side zipper: durable side-zip closure for fast entry, with hook-and-loop tab-stay to secure the zipper

Gusseted tongue: seals the tongue-to-upper gap to limit dirt and debris intrusion

Polymer speed lace eyelets: durable lace anchor points supporting the secondary lace closure

Moisture-wicking air mesh lining with AEGIS antimicrobial protection: manages moisture and limits odor during extended wear

Specifications

Specification

Detail

Brand

Altama

Model

Vengeance SR 8 Side-Zip

Upper material

Full-grain leather and durable nylon mesh

Lining

Moisture-wicking air mesh with AEGIS antimicrobial protection

Zipper

YKK Vision side zipper with hook-and-loop tab-stay

Eyelets

Durable polymer speed lace eyelets

Color

Coyote

Width

Regular

Available sizes

10.5, 11

Weight (size 10.5)

3.29 lb

Weight (size 11)

3.63 lb

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Altama Vengeance SR 8 Side-Zip suits buyers in lightweight-duty roles where rapid boot entry and exit is a regular operational requirement: security professionals, law enforcement personnel in lower-intensity assignments, or range and training environments where speed of readiness matters and the terrain does not demand heavy ankle support or ballistic protection.

This boot is not a ballistic or stab-resistant product and carries no protective armor rating of any kind. It is not suited to roles requiring heavy ankle support, waterproofing, or protection against puncture threats. Only two sizes (10.5 and 11) in one width (Regular) are currently available in this listing; buyers outside those sizes or needing wide or narrow widths should confirm availability before ordering.

Common Questions

How does the side-zip closure work, and does it replace lacing entirely?

The Altama Vengeance SR 8 Side-Zip uses a YKK Vision zipper on the side of the boot for primary entry and exit, with a hook-and-loop tab-stay that holds the zipper closed during wear. The boot also retains a lace system with polymer speed lace eyelets, so the lace closure can be used alongside or independently of the zipper depending on the wearer's preference.

What does the gusseted tongue actually prevent?

The gusseted tongue on the Altama Vengeance SR 8 Side-Zip connects the tongue to the sides of the upper, closing the gap that would otherwise allow dirt, gravel, and debris to enter the boot during movement. This is particularly useful in loose or dusty terrain where an ungusseted tongue would allow material to accumulate against the foot.

What is AEGIS antimicrobial protection and what does it do?

AEGIS is an antimicrobial treatment applied to the air mesh lining of the Altama Vengeance SR 8 Side-Zip. It works to inhibit the growth of odor-causing microbes on the lining material during extended wear. It does not replace regular boot hygiene but helps manage odor buildup between cleanings, which is relevant for buyers wearing the boot through long shifts.

Can this boot ship to my state?

The Altama Vengeance SR 8 Side-Zip is a non-ballistic tactical boot with no armor components, so it is not subject to body armor shipping restrictions. No state-level restrictions on this product are known.
